SUMMER IN SAN CARLOS
We can’t believe it is already the 28th of September! We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary Sunday….we can’t believe how fast and furious it seems that the year has gone by. You have shared in our adventures after the wedding but thought we would include some wedding pictures here for those who haven’t seen them. Getting to know Jim's family and friends and A candid wedding album
We’ve been here for more than a month and the time has just flown by. We look back and we haven’t done much except dive and try and survive the heat. It has been very hot and humid. One day the thermometer on the jeep’s rearview mirror said 118’! Ugh……not to mention the humidity. It is cooling off at night now, but is still in the 90s during the day.
We’ve settled in nicely in the apartment and have added some plants so it is really feeling like home. It is a gorgeous house and the views are amazing. We swim off the beach below the house most mornings.
Right after we got here, an orphan kitten crossed our path and is now part of the family. Her name is Yaqui and she is a grey and black tiger stripe. She is about 4-6 months old. It took her a week or so to get used to us but now she sleeps with us on the bed and comes when you call her name and add a treat. A friend brought her some stuffed mice and she goes crazy, chasing them all over the house. It helps that the floor is tiled and they all slide! Jim and her bat them around like soccer mices.
Most of our friends are smarter than us and are still up north where it is cooler, (well maybe not in Phoenix ) but we’ve run into a few familiar faces. We’ve had lots of friends come down to dive, also, so have been busy on the weekends, divin’ and socializin’. Summer in San Carlos
There are a lot of different critters here in the summer in the warm water (85’) versus the cold water in the spring. We’ve had some spectacular dives! I found my 1st seahorse last week at North Point on Isla San Pedro. It was so cool!
Here are pictures from some of our dives in August. Diving in the Sea of Cortez in August
Hopefully the weather will start to cool off in the next few weeks and we can start working on Abigail. We are going to concentrate on the exterior for now ….. we may not put her in the water until next fall. We will have 2 new grandbabies by Christmas and look forward to spending time over the holidays in Arizona and Colorado with kids and grandkids. Melanie and Travis are having a boy and they are naming him Jack. Stephanie and Joe are having a boy, also. We also want to take a dive trip to either Bonaire or Belize in March and then head to Alaska for the summer. At least that's the plan for now but when you live the life of a gypsy who knows what the morrow may bring.
Here is a link to a great video about San Carlos on YouTube
